Girdle cakes! I was just telling a neighbour ...Yay! Girdle cakes! I was just telling a neighbour about these. If you put raisins in them, they're called Singin' Hinnies. Lovely for tea. My mother used to keep them in a hot dish with a clean tea towel over them to keep them moist. Then we'd butter them and eat them warm.
