So do not fear, for I am
with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
~Isaiah 41:10
This is
Angie, Beverly’s niece, posted on her behalf.
I know many of her faithful followers have been wondering why they
haven’t seen any new recipes for a while.
Beverly
is quite ill. She has non-small-cell
lung cancer, which is treatable, but not curable. She is exhausted, and the road ahead is
hard. Please keep her in your thoughts
and prayers.
She has
touched the lives of many, and if you’d like to leave her a comment wishing her
well we’ll make sure she gets all your messages. Hopefully she’ll be strong enough soon to be
posting on her own, but until then, think of her when you prepare one of her
recipes, and say a little prayer.
Angie, I was so happy to see a post. I am praying for Bev since I heard this sad news. But she is a fighter and has so much heart and a beautiful spirit. I also sent a couple of emails, hope she received them. Give her a hug for me. xo
ReplyDeleteEdie, my step-mom, is making sure she gets all her correspondence. She is one of the strongest women I know and she's fighting this hard. I gave her a big hug for you yesterday :)
DeleteI am keeping Bev in my thoughts and prayers and hoping the treatment will bring about improvement!
ReplyDeleteSending hugs, Nellie
Thank you so much! Hugs delivered :)
DeleteI have only been reading Beverly's blog for a short time, but she immediately touched me with hers words. I have already been praying for her, as I assumed something must be wrong, for lack of updates. Very seldom, have I felt such a connection to person through just their writings, as I have Beverly. She's like an old friend, but then again, I have never seen her, heard her voice, or tasted one of her meals, but I somehow felt I would be welcomed at her table. I will continue to pray for her recovery as well as for those of you taking care of her. What a gift she must be to you, her family and friends. Thank her for her writing and her wit. I so look forward to hearing from her soon.
ReplyDeleteShe truly is a gift - one of those characters that really "make" a family! Thank you for the prayers :)
DeleteDear Bev, I have so enjoyed your posts. You have a lot of recipes I remember my Mom making - even tho I am probably older than you! I had been asking all my relatives if they had my Mom's recipe for Breaded Tomatoes and lo and behold, you had it. Thank you! My thoughts and prayers are with you Bev.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your prayers. And I think you're right about Beverly's recipe's - they are the ones that take us back to the food of our childhood.
DeleteBeverly, I just saw this. I will pray for you and wish you all the best. I have enjoyed your blog almost since the beginning. You have been so faithful. I have often wondered when I can't think of anything new for supper, how you keep posting great recipes every day. Take good care of yourself. Thank you, Angie, for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteBeverly is my go-to source when I run out of supper ideas as well - I think there are a lot of us. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

DeleteThank you Angie for the update. I have been sick at heart for Bev ever since I learned of this news. It is SO NOT FAIR!!! Please tell her that Ina in Alaska is thinking of her every day and saying prayers for her to be as comfortable as possible. Much love. Please keep us posted and I appreciate your stepping in.
ReplyDeleteIna, thank you so much! Beverly specifically asked me to thank you for your prayers and support when I saw her yesterday :)
DeleteThanks for letting us know. I pray she will be better soon. Her wit, wisdom and reciepes are missed. Blessings to all! Carol

DeleteAdding Bev to our prayer list immediately. Let her know that we all wish her well.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer.

ReplyDeleteI am saddened to hear of your illness. I have enjoyed your blog and recipes for some time. May God's peace that passes all understanding be with you now and in times ahead.

DeleteAngie, thank you for the update. I had not known your Aunt's blog until Jazz at OctoberFarm posted. I wanted to pray for and let Bev know she was in my thoughts too.
ReplyDeleteI will be trying her Chicken and Dumplings and Turnip and Rice Soup.
And, I am lighting a white candle.
Thank you so much! Enjoy your chicken and dumplings - it's one of my personal favorites :)
DeletePrayers for healing and comfort for Beverly and for the medical team caring for you. I have enjoyed your blog so much. You are so entertaining --- and obviously a wonderful cook! I wish you good health.
ReplyDeleteThanks you so much!
DeleteThinking of you at this time of Thanksgiving and wishing you all the best. I know you are surrounded by friends, family and the good wishes of many people all over the USA, Canada and elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteThank you! In times like this people really find out how many friends they have, and I know Bev has been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love!
DeleteHello Bev, I have missed your sunny posts. Hoping the best for you in this new journey of healing. Take care, my thoughts come your way.

(i tried to send an email card but your email would not come up for me.)
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. We're making sure Beverly gets all her comments and messages.
DeleteI am so sorry to learn of Beverly's cancer. Cancer is an ugly vicious beast that I know all to well as I recently lost my father due to the same cancer; however, he was diagnosed far to late for any treatment.
ReplyDeleteI am glad she is receiving treatment and it will be a hard road to travel. Please tell Beverly be strong in spirit and faith. To make sure she rests. And know there are so very many people praying for her.
My thoughts and prayers are with Beverly as well as all of the family as she travels this path. As spirited as she seems to be I am sure she will be up and cooking once again. Sending well wishes from Ohio for speedy recovery.
